Fox Whyte transformed a tiny and neglected urban yard into a low-maintenance garden that maximizes space for entertaining. Only two original elements stayed: the ivy that masks a neighbour’s garage, and the heavy concrete planters. Fox Whyte avoided the need for their removal by repurposing them into the redesign. Birch trees bring down the imposing brick wall at the end of the garden to a comfortable human scale. The contemporary layout combines high-end stone and low-cost unit pavers, for affordable custom impact.
