Lake Views
This transitional-style cottage garden capitalizes on the existing topography offering beautiful views of Lake Muskoka throughout the site. A dramatic, 25’ long dry-stone wall marks the main entrance to the cottage. Gracious square cut, local granite, steps and paths lead visitors to the formal front entrance. An adjacent ipe bridge provides easy access for home owners, overtop of the sloping terrain, to the mudroom. The bridge expands to provide an intimate dining area off of the kitchen and dining room with a custom BBQ counter and spectacular sunset views. A series of steps and landings connect the upper terrace with the landscape below, while granite paths, steps and stepping stones lead throughout the garden connecting the cottage to the boat house, the main living terrace and a secluded private beach. Throughout the property native and ornamental plantings provide colour and visual interest through the seasons.
